Khawaja Farmhouse trip!

My school had scheduled a second trip for us and our class went to the Khawaja Farmhouse and there was such beautiful scenery and four of my teachers came with us. We went in our school bus and there me and my class fellows had a blast listening to songs and dancing to the beat. When we reached the farm house we played in the open fields and the grass was a bit bouncy. There was this huge lake there and it had a beautiful sight. I just loved the whole experience of going to this farm house. one of my classmates even rode a horse! Cool right? I was too afraid so i didn't dare come near it. When we were going back to school we had an amazing time and we sang along to the songs and acting cool....I had the best experience and captured some of the moments on my camera....have fun looking at them!

Bonfire at Beaconhouse Liberty Campus
Hello everyone! Yesterday was my school's bonfire and i had a blast there. The songs were loud and made us dance till we got tired. There was a variety of food stalls placed in the school like Dunkin donuts, Walls ice cream, soup and rice, even coffee! My friends and I had fun dancing with the songs plus we got to lit lanterns! Cool right? I saw the lantern make their way to the sky and they were really beautiful. That's pretty much it of the bonfire but until then have a fun weekend!

Save The Children(STC)
Motto:
"We save children’s lives. We fight for their rights.
We help them fulfill their potential."
Introduction:
Save the
Children gives children in the United States and around the world what every
child deserves – a healthy start, the opportunity to learn and protection from
harm. When disaster strikes, we put children’s needs first. We advocate for and
achieve large-scale change for children. We save children’s lives.Together
with Save the Children members worldwide, we help children in 120 countries,
providing support for health, education, protection, disaster relief and so
much more.
How is the organization financed?
Save the Children has a proven track record of using donations efficiently
and effectively. From school children who send their allowance for relief
efforts to the largest philanthropic donors, we cherish all of our supporters.
You can be assured that Save the Children uses the valuable resources donors
have provided in the most cost effective ways possible. Our independently
audited financial statements consistently show that nearly nine out of every
ten dollars we spend goes to programs and services for children and families in
desperate need.
How does it raise money?
STC raises money by advertising for sponsorship's.
Sponsors pay a monthly fee. All monies from sponsors of children in a
particular community or area are pooled for community benefits, such as a
school for the children, or digging a community well, etc. STC is well
regarded, and a very high percentage of money from sponsors actually goes to
projects in the communities served. (They get corporate donations, etc to cover
some of their overheads and staff costs).
How does it distribute aid?
Save the Children Distributes Shoes, Diapers;
Deploys Child-Friendly Spaces to Children who've lost everything in Tornadoes. When
children have to run for their lives, they don’t have time to put on their
shoes, grab a favorite toy, or say goodbye to the place they called home. So as
part of the Southeast tornado response, Save the Children has distributed
truckloads of shoes, diapers, portable cribs, toys and other child-specific
essentials to more than 1,100 children in hardest-hit Tuscaloosa, Ala., and
Smithville.
How much money does
it need? Give examples of the contributions raised by individual donor
countries.
To date Save the Children has raised $128,093,747 for earthquake and cholera response
programming in Haiti from a variety of generous institutional, corporate,
government and individual donors. As of November 30, 2011, we have spent
$100,127,584 on responding to the
earthquake, cholera outbreak and Hurricane Thomas. The rest of the funds will
be spent before the end of 2012.
What recent aid relief has the organization provided?
Typhoon Haiyan: Save the Children launches disaster
relief efforts in the Philippines.
Syrian Crisis: Humanitarian needs are at critical levels
inside Syria, with more than 4 million people in urgent need of relief.
South Sudan Crisis: Save the Children is supporting
the distribution of vital shelter and other critical humanitarian aid.
West Africa Hunger Crisis: Save the Children is on the
ground providing lifesaving support
East Africa Food Crisis: Save the Children is providing
emergency feeding and care for children affected by the crisis.
